What is Euromax?Euromax is a non-profit organisation comprising professionals of the giant screen cinema industry, documentary film makers and distributors as well as technical service suppliers all passionate about nurturing and developing the highest quality and memorable cinematographic experiences.
The annual Euromax meeting attracts professionals from the industries of Giant Screen Cinema, Technology, and 3D documentary cinema. Since 1989, members of Euromax have come together to preview the very best educational documentary films made for giant screens and to build the future of institutional and documentary cinema. We bring the spotlight onto new technologies, new films, and new partnership opportunities with the wider science centre and museum community. Previous year’s hosts include Futuroscope, London’s BFI, La Geode in Paris and Science Museum London. |

Each year, Euromax is welcomed by a new host in Europe.
This year, we are honoured to be hosted by Hemisfèric at The City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia – a long time member of Euromax. 2018 is particularly special for our host, as they mark their 20th anniversary. Hemisfèric is a remarkable and spectacular building designed by Santiago Calatrava that represents a huge human eye, the eye of wisdom. This symbolises the observation of the world that visitors discover by means of surprising audiovisual projections. The Hemisfèric was inaugurated in 1998 and was the first building in the City of Arts and Sciences to open its doors to the public. It is a spectacular construction designed by Santiago Calatrava, with an ovoid roof over 100 metres long that contains in its interior the large sphere that constitutes the projection room. Hemisfèric is the largest theatre in Spain that contains three projection systems into a dome screen of 900 square metres including:
