Euromax Announces Giant Screen Documentary Film 
Line-Up for 2018 Event


12 New Films and 10 Films in Production at City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia, to Coincide with Host’s 20th Anniversary​
 
PARIS, FRANCE -- (April 20, 2018) - Euromax (www.euromax.org), the European Association for giant screen, specialty and institutional documentary films, has announced its 2018 annual meeting film slate and program. The annual event will take place from June 10-12th at la Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències (the City of Arts and Sciences), Valencia, Spain, in the year that marks the host venue’s 20th anniversary.
 
The Hemisfèric dome theatre - also Spain's largest cinema the only dome theatre in Spain - will become home to the three-day Euromax film event.
 
An exciting film program includes twelve new feature films and ten new films in production – all available from leading distribution companies, with some premiering for the very first time in Europe. These include:

  • Australia’s Great Wild North (K2 Communications / Wild Pacific Media)
  • Backyard Wilderness (SK Films)

With an existing IMAX® 15-perf/70-mm projection system, the Hemisferic giant screen dome theatre is also being furnished with a state-of-the-art laser 4K digital insert projection system for the event to allow screenings in a wide range of formats. The projection will be provided by event-sponsor Barco (www.barco.com) and integrated by European digital cinema specialist CinemaNext (www.cinemanext.com).
 
Speaking about the conference, Laurent Dondey, Euromax president said, "We are hugely excited about this year’s event. The event is expected to attract over one hundred delegates from institutional theatres, museums, film production companies and distributors across the globe as well as giant screen specialists, planetariums and visitor attractions, architects of giant digital projection systems, and 3D VR experts.
 
Barco, MacGillivray Freeman Films, IMAX and December Media are already confirmed as sponsors of the 2018 event.

Registrations and Film Submissions Open for Euromax 2018 at City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia

Barco named as first key event sponsor with temporary laser 4K upgrade of insert projection system 
 
PARIS, FRANCE -- (March 12, 2018) -- Euromax, the European Association for giant screen, speciality and institutional documentary films, is delighted to announce the launch of its 2018 Conference from June 10-12th at la Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències (the City of Arts and Sciences), Valencia, Spain, in the year that marks the host venue’s 20th anniversary.

The Hemisfèric dome theatre - also Spain's largest cinema the only dome theatre in Spain - will become home to exciting new giant screen documentary film screenings for the three day Euromax film event.

Euromax will this year also be held in partnership with Barco (www.barco.com) as the first-named event sponsor. Barco, with integration partner and digital cinema specialist, Proyecson (www.proyecson.com), will install a temporarily upgraded laser 4K insert projection system for the playback of high resolution digital 2D and 3D films.

The theatre’s existing 1570 IMAX® Dome projection system will also be in operation to promise delegates a broad range of presentation formats and a compelling event program.

For more than twenty years, the Euromax Meeting has gathered annually in a specially chosen European location for decision makers and key professionals of the giant screen cinema industry to meet and screen new giant screen film releases and trailers. It has always been an instrumental time for key discussions, new business opportunities and high-value networking in areas of production, licensing, technical installation and content diversification.
